Environment Spokesperson Claire Potter is calling on Worthing Borough Council to set an example for other employers in the town by banning smoking in the workplace.
Lib Dem Spokesperson for the Environment Councillor Claire Potter will be putting a motion to the Council on Tuesday 19th October which, in accordance with the Council's own public health policy, will seek to ban smoking in the workplace to enable Council employees to enjoy a smoke-free and healthy working environment.
Claire says "As a smoker myself I appreciate that others should not become victims of other colleagues' habits and are entitled to work in a healthy environment. I hope that the Cabinet Member for the Environment will recommend that Worthing Borough Council set an example of good practice to other employers in the town."
